Ramón Juárez Opens Up About His Experience With Mexico During Visit to Bolivia

Mexican defender Ramón Juárez, a player for Club América, spoke in the mixed zone after Mexico’s narrow victory over Bolivia in Santa Cruz, sharing his first impressions of the match and the challenging conditions.

Juárez was part of the squad that secured a 1–0 win thanks to a goal from Germán Berterame in a match heavily influenced by intense heat and a high-energy opponent that made things difficult during the first half.

“The heat is definitely intense—you can see how sweaty you are… but these are good scenarios for growth and for experiencing situations different from what we usually face,” Juárez said when discussing the conditions in Santa Cruz, where the climate and atmosphere affected the tempo of the game.

The defender also highlighted the team’s collective effort in keeping a clean sheet, which he described as one of the group’s key takeaways from the match. He acknowledged Bolivia’s intensity, calling them “a very physical team” that feeds off the energy of its home crowd.

Juárez entered the match around the 30th minute after Israel Reyes was forced off due to a knee injury. Juárez and Everardo López then stepped in to reinforce Mexico’s central defense.

Although his appearance was limited, Juárez’s comments reflected his mindset of making the most of every opportunity and accumulating minutes as he aims to be included in the final squad for the 2026 World Cup. The visit to Bolivia and the minutes he logged are part of a mini preparation tour for Mexico ahead of the tournament. El Tri had previously defeated Panama and continues to search for defensive solidity and competitive rhythm as it builds toward its World Cup debut in June.
