Querétaro shocks Toluca and ends unbeaten run in Clausura 2026

Querétaro delivered one of the biggest surprises of the Clausura 2026 by defeating Toluca 1–0 in Matchday 13, ending the Red Devils’ unbeaten streak in the tournament.

The only goal of the match came in the 76th minute, when Alí Ávila capitalized on a key attacking play to give Gallos Blancos the lead and ultimately the victory.

Toluca dominated possession and generated multiple scoring chances throughout the game, but a lack of finishing and solid defending from Querétaro prevented them from finding the equalizer.

The result marks a significant moment in the Clausura 2026 campaign, as Toluca—previously undefeated and sitting near the top of the table—suffers its first loss of the season, remaining with 26 points.

For Querétaro, the victory represents a crucial boost in the standings, as they secure three valuable points and gain momentum despite having struggled throughout the tournament.

In a match defined by efficiency over dominance, Querétaro took its chance and handed Toluca a painful but important wake-up call heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
