Mazatlán stuns Toluca in seven-goal thriller

Mazatlán FC delivered one of the most exciting matches of the Clausura 2026, defeating Deportivo Toluca Fútbol Club 4–3 in Matchday 16 at the Estadio El Encanto.

Toluca took the lead before halftime and even regained the advantage early in the second half, but the match turned dramatically after the visitors were reduced to ten men following a red card. From that moment on, Mazatlán capitalized on the numerical advantage and mounted a comeback.

The game turned into a back-and-forth battle, with multiple lead changes and constant attacking chances from both sides. Mazatlán eventually completed the comeback and sealed the win late in the match, capping off a high-scoring encounter that featured seven total goals.

Beyond the result, the match carried emotional significance as it marked Mazatlán’s farewell at home, closing a chapter for the club with a memorable victory in front of its fans.

For Toluca, the defeat represents a setback in the final stretch of the regular season, highlighting defensive issues and discipline problems at a crucial moment in the tournament.
