Kylian Mbappé Makes History With Hat-Trick in Under 7 Minutes — And Scores Four in Greece

ree

Kylian Mbappé delivered one of the most explosive performances in modern Champions League history, scoring four goals in Real Madrid’s 4–3 win over Olympiacos in Piraeus. His hat-trick — scored in just 6 minutes and 42 seconds (22’, 24’, 29’) — is now the second-fastest in UCL history, behind only Mohamed Salah’s record.

Olympiacos struck first through Chiquinho in the 8th minute, but Mbappé overturned the game with his lightning-quick burst before halftime. In the second half, Mehdi Taremi and Ayoub El Kaabi pulled the Greeks close, but Madrid held firm to protect the result. It was Real Madrid’s first-ever victory in Piraeus after four winless visits.

Mbappé’s four-goal night takes him to 64 goals in 92 Champions League matches, moving him into 6th all-time, now within reach of Raúl. It was also his fifth career UCL hat-trick, and incredibly, four of them have been away from home.

This match further cements his status as the top scorer of the current European campaign, now with 9 goals in 5 games. Across all competitions in 2025–26, he has 22 goals and 3 assists in 18 matches. For Xabi Alonso’s side, the victory halts a worrying three-match winless streak and boosts Madrid to 12 points under the league-table-style phase of the new UCL format — a critical step toward a top-8 finish and direct qualification for the round of 16.

Mbappé’s hat-trick from 22’ to 29’ represents the fastest scoring burst ever recorded by a Real Madrid player in the Champions League and the quickest in the tournament since Salah’s 6:12. His goals spanned pure variety — first-touch finish, penalty strike, and a full-speed breakaway.

Elsewhere on the matchday, Arsenal defeated Bayern Munich 3–1 to take the top spot on the ranking table, PSG beat Tottenham 5–3, and PSV hammered Liverpool 4–1 at Anfield. It was a wild European night with 42 total goals across stadiums.

Now Real Madrid look to lock in a premium seeding spot over their final two fixtures, while balancing LaLiga demands. And with Mbappé in unstoppable form, Madrid has everything in its hands to finish high.
