Julián Quiñones reaches 51 goal contributions and keeps shining in Saudi Arabia

Naturalized Mexican forward Julián Quiñones continues to impress in the Saudi Pro League. Quiñones found the back of the net once again on Matchday 16 as Al-Qadisiya cruised to a dominant 5–1 win over Al-Hazm.

The striker added another goal to his tally and reaffirmed his outstanding individual form, establishing himself as one of Al-Qadisiya’s most influential players this season, both as a scorer and a creator.

Quiñones’ goal came in the 73rd minute following a perfectly weighted cross from Mohammed Aboulshamat on the right flank. The ball bounced inside the box and Quiñones rose unmarked to head home the 3–0, further extending his team’s control of the match.

Earlier in the game, Mateo Retegui opened the scoring, while Musab Al-Juwayr doubled the lead in the second half. An own goal by Ahmed Al-Nakhli and a late strike from Aboulshamat completed the emphatic victory.

Quiñones is enjoying one of the best stretches of his career. With this latest goal, he reached 17 goals for the season and remains the all-time leading scorer in Al-Qadisiya’s short history. Even more impressive, the forward has now recorded 51 total contributions — goals and assists combined — in just 49 appearances.

Those numbers keep Quiñones firmly in the conversation as a potential option heading toward the FIFA World Cup 2026. According to reports from journalist Ekrem Konur, the player is also considering a possible exit from Saudi Arabia, with his representatives having offered him to clubs in Brazil, including Flamengo.

At the moment, there are no formal negotiations or concrete offers. Quiñones also faces an important challenge on the international stage, as he has not been a regular call-up under Mexico head coach Javier Aguirre, a factor that could complicate his chances of making the final squad for the 2026 World Cup.

For now, Julián Quiñones continues to let his performances in Saudi Arabia do the talking, delivering goals, consistency, and elite-level production that keep his name relevant on multiple fronts.
