Julián Quiñones once again proved he is in outstanding form, delivering a decisive performance by scoring twice in Al-Qadisiya’s comeback victory over Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League. The Mexican international stepped up at the perfect moment and completely shifted the momentum of the match.
The former Atlas and Club América striker initiated the play from midfield, switched the ball to the left flank, and attacked the box with authority. In the 37th minute, Quiñones met a low cross and finished first-time to level the score at 1–1.
Refusing to settle for the equalizer, Quiñones struck again. Mohammed Aboulshamat produced an excellent individual move before threading a precise through ball that left the Mexican forward one-on-one, calmly converting to make it 2–1 for Al-Qadisiya.
With the brace, Quiñones reaffirmed his status as one of the most in-form Mexican footballers today. His attacking influence proved decisive in a demanding matchup against one of the strongest clubs in the Saudi Professional League.
The match had started poorly for Al-Qadisiya. Karim Benzema opened the scoring in the 29th minute, confidently converting a penalty past Koen Casteels despite the goalkeeper guessing the right direction.
After the former Real Madrid star’s goal, Julián Quiñones took full control of the game. He equalized before halftime and struck again in the second half, in the 59th minute, to seal the victory. The Mexico national team forward now has 16 direct goal contributions in 17 league matches—numbers that significantly strengthen his case for inclusion in Javier Aguirre’s final squad.
In addition, Quiñones has added four more goals in the King’s Cup and is enjoying one of the best stretches of his career. At this level, the striker is emerging as one of Mexico’s strongest attacking options heading toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
