Iker Casillas Stuns Fans by Posing With Mexico National Team Jersey


Legendary former Real Madrid and Spain national team goalkeeper Iker Casillas surprised fans after appearing with a Mexico national team jersey, a gesture that quickly drew attention across social media.


The former Real Madrid captain received the jersey as a gift during a meeting held in Madrid, while also confirming that he will be in Mexico well ahead of the 2026 World Cup.



The meeting took place between Casillas and Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González, who personally presented him with the green Mexico jersey featuring the number 1 and Casillas’ name on the back.


Although Casillas did not put on the shirt, he proudly held it up for the camera and posed for a commemorative photo, creating a symbolic moment that bridged Spanish and Mexican football.


During the meeting, the governor extended a formal invitation for Casillas to participate as a keynote speaker at the INDEREQ Sports Congress 2026, scheduled to take place on March 4 in Querétaro.



Mauricio Kuri highlighted Casillas’ remarkable career, emphasizing his legacy as a league champion, Champions League winner, and World Cup champion, as well as his example on and off the field. Casillas immediately accepted the invitation and confirmed his visit to Mexico, thanking the governor and expressing his hope that the event will be a positive experience for all attendees.


With this upcoming visit, Iker Casillas joins a growing list of international football figures set to be in Mexico ahead of the 2026 World Cup, further strengthening the connection between European football and the country’s ongoing sports development.
