Hansi Flick Chases Another Perfect Final Record with Barcelona Against Real Madrid

Hansi Flick has turned every final he manages into a guarantee of success. The German coach has guided FC Barcelona into the Spanish Super Cup Final and arrives with an impeccable record: seven finals coached, seven trophies lifted. This weekend, against Real Madrid, Flick will look to extend a streak that is already intimidating all of Europe.

Flick has not only reshaped Barcelona’s playing style, he has also instilled a winning mentality that comes alive in decisive matches. He now faces his eighth career final with one clear objective — to maintain a 100 percent success rate when silverware is on the line.

His dominance in finals began at Bayern Munich. In just a year and a half, Flick built a ruthless team that delivered in every high-pressure showdown. From domestic competitions to the biggest European stages, his imprint was always visible when margins were at their thinnest.

That story has continued in Barcelona. During the 2024–25 season, Flick already added two more trophies, both at the expense of Real Madrid, in matches defined by maximum intensity and pressure. Once again, Flick responded when mistakes were no longer an option.

With Bayern Munich, he won five consecutive finals: the 2020 German Cup against Bayer Leverkusen, the UEFA Champions League Final versus PSG, the UEFA Super Cup over Sevilla, the German Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund, and the FIFA Club World Cup against Tigres.

At Barcelona, the pattern repeated. Flick dismantled Real Madrid in the 2025 Spanish Super Cup with a dominant victory and later defeated them again in the Copa del Rey Final in a tighter contest but with the same outcome.

Now another Clásico stands as the ultimate test. Real Madrid will attempt to end a statistic that already weighs heavily on the build-up, while Hansi Flick aims to further cement a personal legend as one of the most reliable final-game coaches of the modern era.
