Club Deportivo Guadalajara has officially unveiled its third kit for the Clausura 2026 tournament, a special design created to commemorate the club’s 120th anniversary in Mexican football. This commemorative jersey marks a significant milestone for one of the most traditional and historic institutions in the country.
The new alternate shirt stands out with a royal blue base, complemented by navy blue details and gold accents—a color scheme that also extends to the sponsor logos. The design includes visual elements inspired by Club Unión, the team that marked the origins of Guadalajara during its earliest years.
As part of the tribute, the jersey features a special emblem on the back of the shirt, just below the collar, combining the club’s first-ever crest with the inscription: “Club Deportivo Guadalajara 120 Años.” This detail pays homage to the club’s roots while linking them to its modern identity.
The shirt comes with a round neck and gold-lined finishes, reinforcing its elegant and commemorative style. This special-edition kit will be worn for the remainder of the Clausura 2026 season and offers a clear departure from Chivas’ traditional red-and-white stripes.
Chivas will debut the jersey this Saturday when they face Atlético de San Luis at Estadio Alfonso Lastras in a Clausura 2026 matchday fixture.
In addition, the release of this kit could mark the end of the partnership between Chivas and Puma after a decade-long collaboration with the German sportswear brand. All signs suggest that this commemorative jersey may be Puma’s final design for Guadalajara, adding even greater historical value to the uniform.
The unveiling of the jersey is part of a broader celebration of the club’s 120th anniversary, which includes various events and activities throughout the season. The choice of colors and symbols aims to honor Chivas’ rich past while maintaining a strong connection to its competitive present.
