Chelsea Prepare €160 Million Bid for Vinícius Jr. as Real Madrid Future in Doubt

Chelsea are preparing a blockbuster move that could shake the European transfer market, as the club is seriously considering a record-breaking bid for Vinícius Jr. The London side are closely monitoring the Brazilian’s situation at Real Madrid, where his short-term future is now surrounded by uncertainty.

In recent weeks, the relationship between Vinícius and the Madrid environment has become increasingly strained. The arrival of Xabi Alonso on the bench has failed to fully connect with the winger, a situation that has fueled rumors of a possible move to the Premier League, according to reports from The Guardian Sport. The player’s frustration is not limited to the coaching staff.

A section of the Real Madrid fan base has openly questioned his recent performances, far from the level that once placed him in the Ballon d’Or conversation. This growing tension has made a transfer no longer feel like a distant scenario.

Chelsea see this context as a major opportunity. From Stamford Bridge, the club believes Vinícius could become the new attacking face of their long-term project, regardless of who eventually replaces Enzo Maresca on the touchline. One of the biggest obstacles in Vinícius’ relationship with Real Madrid is his contract renewal. Talks are currently stalled and show little sign of progress.

The most delicate point is his salary demand. Vinícius wants to become the highest-paid player in the squad, a request the board has been reluctant to accept in order to avoid internal dressing-room conflicts. Chelsea would be willing to table an offer close to €160 million, a figure that would place the Brazilian among the most expensive transfers in football history.

Although clubs from Saudi Arabia have also shown interest, Vinícius’ priority is to remain in European football, making the Blues an increasingly realistic destination if negotiations with Real Madrid continue to break down.
