Charlotte FC Moves Up to 4th place after a 2-0 Victory at Home Against FC Cincinnati

Charlotte FC secured a 2-0 victory over FC Cincinnati at Bank of America Stadium, making it a historic record high in points obtained during their first 4 games.

The match remained goalless in the first half, with both teams staying calm and defensively collected. However, Charlotte FC broke the deadlock in the 48th minute when Liel Abada capitalized after a defensive error from Pavel Bucha, Liel raced past Cincinnati defenders to slot the ball into the far post and past the goalie.
Just three minutes later, in the 51st minute, Patrick Agyemang doubled the lead for Charlotte. Agyemang timed his run perfectly to receive a through ball from midfielder Pep Biel and calmly placed the ball into the lower left side of the goal.
Goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina was instrumental in maintaining the clean sheet for Charlotte FC, recording a career-high eight saves. His performance saved multiple attempts from FC Cincinnati, who managed 17 shots with eight on target.

The victory was witnessed by a crowd of 27,807 fans, who celebrated Charlotte’s dominant performance. This win propels Charlotte FC up the Eastern Conference standings, reflecting their growing cohesion and tactical prowess under the current coaching regime.

FC Cincinnati, despite having a slight edge in possession with 51.3%, struggled to convert opportunities into goals. Defender Gilberto Flores received a yellow card in the 45th minute, adding to Cincinnati’s challenges during the match.
This match solidified Charlotte FC’s potential as a top of the table team in the league. The black and blue returns to face the San Jose Earthquakes next Saturday at Bank of America, a team strugling to find its form.
