Atlas rescues dramatic draw against Toluca at the Nemesio Díez

Deportivo Toluca Fútbol Club and Atlas Fútbol Club played out a 1–1 draw in Matchday 11 of the Liga MX Clausura 2026 tournament at the Estadio Nemesio Díez, in a match decided by two dramatic goals in stoppage time.

The game remained scoreless for most of the night despite several chances from both sides, with goalkeepers playing a key role in keeping the match level. Toluca created the most danger in the first half, while Atlas pushed forward more aggressively after the break.

The deadlock was finally broken in second-half stoppage time, when Jesús Ricardo Angulo scored for Toluca in the 92nd minute, seemingly giving the home side the victory. However, Atlas responded almost immediately: Víctor Ríos fired a powerful long-range shot in the 94th minute to secure a dramatic equalizer for the visitors.

With the result, Toluca remained among the top teams in the Clausura standings while Atlas earned an important point on the road in one of the most intense finishes of the round.
