Alan Mozo leaves Chivas and joins Pachuca as a new reinforcement for the next Liga MX season

Chivas officially confirmed the departure of Alan Mozo, who will continue his career with Pachuca ahead of the upcoming tournament. The 28-year-old right back leaves Guadalajara after a period marked by limited playing time and now becomes a new signing for the Tuzos, a club betting on his experience in Liga MX.

The agreement between both clubs establishes that Mozo will join Pachuca on a one-year loan with an option to buy. This move represents his third stage in Mexico’s top flight after previous spells with Pumas and Chivas. During the last tournament, Mozo lost prominence in Guadalajara and appeared in only three official matches. Strong internal competition and difficulty fitting into the coaching staff’s tactical system restricted his minutes, accelerating the search for a new destination.

From Chivas’ front office, the decision was purely sporting. The club chose to part ways with the defender following the consolidation of other players in his position, prioritizing a squad reshuffle ahead of the new season. Pachuca announced the signing through one of its traditional creative social media videos. Coinciding with Three Kings Day, the club introduced Mozo dressed as one of the Wise Men, accompanied by a message highlighting the excitement surrounding this new chapter.

The defender has already completed his medical and physical exams at the Universidad del Futbol, allowing him to immediately join preseason training. Under head coach Esteban Solari, Mozo will aim to regain consistency and a leading role within a team known for developing domestic talent. Chivas, meanwhile, said goodbye with a thank-you message on social media, wishing him success in his new project. For Alan Mozo, Pachuca represents a key opportunity to rediscover his best form and compete again for a prominent place in Liga MX.
