Toluca lets victory slip away against Atlético de San Luis

Deportivo Toluca Fútbol Club and Atlético de San Luis played out a dramatic 1–1 draw in Matchday 14 of the Liga MX Clausura 2026 at the Estadio Nemesio Díez.

Toluca appeared to have secured the win after Franco Rossi opened the scoring in the second half, marking his first goal with the club and giving the home side control of the match.

However, in stoppage time, controversy changed the outcome. A late penalty was awarded to San Luis, and Joao Pedro converted from the spot in the 90+6 minute to rescue a point for the visitors.

The result left a bitter taste for Toluca, which had the opportunity to move up in the standings and secure a stronger position heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

With the draw, Toluca remains in the upper part of the table but drops valuable points at home, while Atlético de San Luis gains a crucial result to keep its hopes alive in the Clausura 2026 campaign.
