Former Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli is still searching for his next club after leaving Italian side Como in September, but the English midfielder has not given up on returning to professional football. The 29-year-old has returned to Tottenham’s training complex to work individually while he looks for a new contract.
Tottenham has opened the doors of Hotspur Way to allow Alli to maintain his fitness. The midfielder is training on his own at the club’s facilities with the goal of staying in competitive shape and being ready if a new opportunity arises.
Alli recently shared a video on social media showing himself training on the club’s practice fields. The footage quickly sparked nostalgia among Tottenham supporters, as the midfielder experienced the most successful years of his career with Spurs.
The England international joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2015 from MK Dons and went on to make 269 appearances for the club, scoring 69 goals. During that period, he emerged as one of the brightest young talents in English football and played a key role in Tottenham’s rise as a Premier League contender.
Alli was also spotted attending the recent North London Derby against Arsenal as a guest of the club. During the visit, he spoke about his desire to return to professional football as soon as possible. “I want to get back on the pitch soon. Hopefully it won’t be too long,” he said at the time.
While Tottenham is providing logistical support and access to training facilities, the next step in Alli’s career will depend on whether another club is willing to take a chance on his talent and offer him a new contract.
For now, the former Spurs playmaker remains focused on rebuilding his form and proving he still has a place in professional football.
