The Formula One calendar will enter an unexpected pause following the Japanese Grand Prix, which will be the last race for five weeks due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
The interruption comes after the cancellation of the Bahrain Grand Prix and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, both affected by the ongoing conflict involving Iran. As a result, the championship will not resume until May 3 at the Miami Grand Prix.
